SomethinsGottaGive* represents my interests and concerns; being a Gemini they are varied and far-flung. You'll find things to buy and discover and a place to donate to a worthy cause. We are in the process of redesigning the website and are excited about relaunching the site in the Spring/Summer of this year. In the meantime please take a look at what we have now and hopefully visit us in our shop. There are five main categories:

   furniture
   photography
   decoratives
   lamps
   helping hand

You can buy made-to-order coffee tables or vintage and new photographs, and find decoratives from one-of-a-kind to used and worn.

Before leaving, stop off at Helping Hand and see if there's an organization that speaks to your heart and make a donation. From time to time you'll find items for sale that will benefit one or all of the organizations listed in Helping Hand.

Most of all, enjoy the site. You can navigate the site two ways, by either clicking on a category to your left or scrolling along the bottom and clicking on any image.

Many thanks,

James H. Knight

* "SomethinsGottaGive" is the name of a Johnny Mercer song written for and first performed by Fred Astaire in the 1955 musical film Daddy Long Legs. The most well known version was recorded by the McGuire Sisters and also released in 1955. This is also my favorite version. Girl groups - the McGuire Sisters, the Supremes, the Pointer Sisters, En Vogue, Destiny's Child - it's hard to get away from them. Nothing beats a group of girls singing in harmony. If you ever get the chance, listen to the Supremes' take on the McGuire Sisters' hit "Sincerely". It's cool.

And, yes, the Beatles paid homage with their harmonies to girl groups. Their 1963 song, 'This Boy' is a good example ... could it be the Shirelles?

Although Johnny Mercer's lyrics don't mean much in explaining this website, the song's title does: SomethinsGottaGive. (I've dropped the "g" in honor of my Southern heritage.)

SomethinsGottaGive before I get too old.
SomethinsGottaGive or the cat could starve.
SomethinsGottaGive ... like your willpower ... and you'll buy somethin'.
