Lost and Found - I have had many people ask me about the category Lost and Found, so I thought I would explain the purpose of this section.

Recently Paul McCartney attended a New York Knicks game and was shown on the screen. Someone tweeted, "Who is Paul McCartney?" Most people reading this probably wonder how that could be.

In the age of 24-hour news, whether it be hard news or entertainment news, we actually miss a lot. We don't all get our news from the same place or watch and listen to the same things. There is very little crossover. Inevitably there are things that we have never heard of, from the present and the past.

With very few exceptions, not everyone is reading or enjoying the same music, movies, and books - not even Harry Potter or Fifty Shades of Grey.

I believe there was a time, possibly the mid to late sixties, when parents knew, even if only by name, the artists their children listened to, watched, or read; and their children knew the names of the artists from their parents' youth. This was because there were only three television channels and families watched television together. And there was the variety show. On the Ed Sullivan Show you could see Maria Callas or Joan Sutherland alongside the Supremes and the Rolling Stones, not to mention the comedians Milton Berle or Jack Benny. The same sort of mix occurred on The Hollywood Palace or the Dean Martin Show. Later, there would be the Carol Burnett Show and the Sonny and Cher Show. Today television is watched sporadically and shows are geared toward a particular demographic. It is rare for a family to watch programs together and the same goes for hard news. You can pick and choose what and how you watch.

Lost and Found is for what you may have missed, no matter your age, or to remind you of something or someone you forgot. Working with people of all ages, I have realized how common it is for someone to say, "I never heard of that."

Lost and Found will never be complete because I will always be adding to it.

This is all stuff I like and recommend to anyone who likes good music, a good movie, or a good read.
